In today's rapidly changing labour market,
with a greater emphasis on shorter and more flexible careers,
it is essential to have easy access to the latest career
opportunities throughout our working lives. Whatever
our career aspirations may be, there is a
growing need for people of all ages to change direction, update
their skills and gain new knowledge.
To satisfy this need, Careers Wales provides impartial Careers
Information, Advice and Guidance to people of all
ages throughout Wales in locations convenient to everyone.
Careers Wales North East is one of the six
independent companies known collectively as Careers Wales.
We work closely with the local community to provide a full
range of careers information, advice and guidance to people
of all ages as they seek to move between education, employment
and training. We also provide support and counselling to the
unemployed and those facing redundancy, and seek to develop
lasting partnerships between education and business.
We have an excellent reputation and service record: we receive
consistently high ratings from Estyn, the Welsh Inspectorate
for Education and Training, and in 1997 we were the first
careers company in Wales to be awarded the Charter Mark in
recognition of our commitment to customer service.
In 2001,
we were the only company in Wales to win a Save the Children
award for providing consistently high quality services to
young people. Feedback continually shows that we are making
a real difference to our customers' lives, and continuing
expansion ensures that our resources and expertise are becoming
available to ever-greater numbers of people.
Careers Wales North East covers Flintshire, Wrexham and
the southern part of Denbighshire. The area has attracted
investment from several large employers: British Aerospace,
Kellogg's, Iceland and various others all have a strong
presence here. The northern end of the Clwydian Range separates
the region, and many places have been declared Areas of Outstanding
Natural Beauty.
The company's Head Office is in Mold, a small, busy
market town about 10 miles from Chester. Our Careers Shops
are located in Mold, Wrexham and Shotton providing ready access
to independent and impartial careers information, advice and
guidance during weekdays and on Saturday mornings.
All are
well served by an excellent road network. Traffic congestion
is minimal, and parking is cheap and plentiful. Although mainly
rural, the area is within easy reach of Chester and Liverpool,
and it is easy to enjoy the advantages of country life without
sacrificing the convenience of a town. |
