  What are my choices?

There are some subjects that you have to take. You have to take these subjects because they help you build up the skills you'll need in the future, like reading and writing clearly, being able to use numbers and problem solving.

The core subjects are:
- Maths
- Science
- English
- Welsh

You may also have lessons in PE, Religious Studies, IT, PSE, Careers Education and Work Related Education but in most schools you don't have to take exams in these subjects.

Take a look at the Year 9 Choices tutorials in the Progress File to help you make choices.
