It’s Year 9 and that means just one thing. It’s your choice.
This is the year you choose your GCSE or entry level subjects, the year you begin building on your strengths. Don’t worry if you are not sure what you want to be once you’ve left school. At least by now you should be aware of what’s not for you – and that’s a decent start.
But before you start to focus on some subjects and kiss goodbye to others, make sure you choose wisely, as these choices could affect what you do in the future. Keeping your options open is never going to do you any harm.
If you’re still put off by having to make choices now, there are plenty of people around you who are ready and able to guide you.
Above all, don’t be scared by it all. Think of this as your first taste of freedom. You now have the chance to make things happen.
